Sentiero "1" - Campiglia Portovenere
Campiglia - Portovenere
Torniamo oggi al paesino di Campiglia, dove eravamo già stati per percorrere il
sentiero che in quell'occasione, ci portò alla famosa scalinata di Monesteroli. E'
proprio quando siamo sui sentieri che abbiamo la possibilità di trovare
ispirazione per organizzarne uno nuovo. Lasciamo l'auto sulla strada comunale
poco prima del paese e ci dirigiamo verso località Bocca dei Cavalin dove, sulla
destra in pieno tornante, inizia un sentiero segnalato come Alta Via 5 Terre
(AV5T). Inizia così il nostro percorso sullo sterrato che si svilupperà per tutto il
tempo di andata, in discesa.
La prima parte del tracciato attraversa una pineta, su acciottolato misto, a volte
un po' sconnesso. Sono presenti parecchi rovi e rami caduti, probabilmente
lasciati dalle forti piogge dei giorni precedenti. Terminiamo un brevissimo tratto
in piano ed ecco davanti a noi il primo colpo d'occhio! Ai piedi del monte
Muzzerone possiamo ammirare in tutto il suo splendore il promontorio di
Portovenere con le isole Palmaria, Tino e Tinetto sullo sfondo.
Siamo in località Pitone, nome curioso di cui sul web troviamo la traduzione dal
dialetto spezzino, ovvero Belvedere. Ora, noi siamo liguri di Ponente e capiamo
la diversità di molte parole, ma nel dialetto delle nostre parti "pitone" vuol dire
tutt'altro! Torniamo a noi, fin qui la macchia mediterranea è stata un susseguirsi
di arbusti, tra i quali riconosciamo il mirto e il corbezzolo. Dopo appena 15
minuti di camminata dal promontorio, con nostra meraviglia, il sentiero continua
sull'asfalto. Questo tratto di "mezzo" dove finisce lo sterrato e che per fortuna è
breve, si chiama Sella di Derbi. Una roulotte azzurra modificata a caffetteria
offre un punto ristoro, proprio ai piedi del monte Castellana. Continuiamo
sempre su asfalto sino a raggiungere una cava, precisamente una delle tre fonti
estrattive di marmo portoro o marmo di Portovenere. Si tratta di un tipo di
marmo pregiato, di un nero brillante con venature dorate. Passata questa
interessante appendice al sentiero, seguiamo l’indicazione per il rifugio
Muzzerone,
Aggiriamo il monte da cui prende il nome inoltrandoci nella boscaglia fino al
bivio del rifugio. Purtroppo oggi è chiuso, siamo fuori stagione e il fatto che sia
un giorno feriale non ci aiuta, non c'è anima viva.
Riprendiamo il cammino scendendo la dorsale, tra vigna, ulivi e muretti a secco.
In circa 20 minuti, raggiungiamo Castello Doria. Da qui ben presto finisce il
sentiero "1" e iniziamo a girare il piccolo borgo! La vista spazia tra anse sulle
case colorate e interessanti scorci sul mare. Ritorniamo percorrendo lo stesso
sentiero dell'andata ma essendo quasi completamente in salita ci mettiamo il
doppio del tempo.
Let's go back today to the village of Campiglia, where we had already been to travel the
path that on that occasion, led us to the famous staircase of Monesteroli. AND'
just when we are on the paths we have the opportunity to find
inspiration to organize a new one. We leave the car on the municipal road
just before the town and we head towards Bocca dei Cavalin where, on the
right in full hairpin, a path begins marked as Alta Via 5 Terre
(AV5T). Thus begins our path on the dirt road that will develop throughout the
forward time, downhill.
The first part of the route crosses a pine forest, on mixed cobblestones at times
a bit bumpy. There are several brambles and fallen branches, probably
left by the heavy rains of the previous days. We finish a very short stretch
flat and here is the first glance in front of us! At the foot of the mountain
Muzzerone we can admire the promontory of
Portovenere with the islands of Palmaria, Tino and Tinetto in the background.
We are in Pitone, a curious name of which on the web we find the translation from
dialect of La Spezia, or Belvedere. Now, we are Ligurian from the west and we understand
the diversity of many words, but in the dialect of our parts "python" means
far from it! Let's get back to us, so far the Mediterranean scrub has been a succession
of shrubs, among which we recognize the myrtle and the strawberry tree. After just 15
minutes of walk from the promontory, to our amazement, the path continues
on the asphalt. This stretch of "middle" where the dirt road ends and fortunately it is
short, it is called Sella di Derbi. A blue caravan modified into a cafeteria
offers a refreshment point, right at the foot of Mount Castellana. Let's continue
always on asphalt until you reach a quarry, precisely one of the three sources
quarries of portoro marble or Portovenere marble. It is a kind of
precious marble, of a brilliant black with golden veins. Past this
interesting appendix to the path, we follow the signs for the refuge
Muzzerone,
We go around the mountain from which it takes its name by entering the bush up to
junction of the refuge. Unfortunately today it is closed, we are out of season and the fact that it is
a weekday does not help us, there is not a living soul.
We continue our journey going down the ridge, among vineyards, olive trees and dry stone walls.
In about 20 minutes, we reach Castello Doria. From here soon ends the
path "1" and we begin to turn the small village! The view sweeps between loops on
colorful houses and interesting views of the sea. We return along the same
path of the first leg but being almost completely uphill we put the
double the time.
